Bradley Whitford said the chance to reprise a role in a new production of “A Few Good Men” feels like “a time machine,” as he prepares for the play’s October 8 opening at Lincoln Center Theater and a Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Sept. 30.
What happened
Whitford will play Colonel Jessup in the revival, which opens Oct. 8 at Lincoln Center. The star‑receiving ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 30, with fellow “West Wing” alumni Martin Sheen and Dule Hill slated to speak.
What was said
In a phone interview, Whitford told Variety, “It was an extraordinary thing, and it’s where I met Aaron. ‘The West Wing’ never would have happened if that hadn’t happened.” He also joked about rehearsing the iconic line “You can’t handle the truth!” and his wife’s reaction to his line‑learning process.
How it came about
Whitford first worked with Sorkin in the original 1989 Broadway run of the play, later collaborating on the TV series “The West Wing.” The new production reunites the actor with the writer after more than three decades.
