Dubai – Karan Johar has confirmed that the ninth and final season of his celebrity interview show Koffee With Karan will not include any cricketers as guests, according to Gulf News.
What happened
The show’s latest teaser shows Johar on a phone call, ending with a clear statement that “no cricketers” will appear. Fans had been campaigning on social media for a joint appearance by Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, a pairing that has rarely been seen together on television.
What the report adds
Gulf News notes that the decision comes as the ninth season is billed as the series’ last, raising expectations for which other celebrities will fill the guest list. The outlet also highlights Kohli and Sharma’s tendency to keep their relationship out of the public eye, which added to the speculation.
What was said
The article does not contain direct quotes from Johar or the couple, only the teaser’s wording that “no cricketers” will be featured.
