India’s sole dedicated heavy‑metal open‑air festival, Bangalore Open Air, is set for its 14th edition on Oct 10, according to newindianexpress.com.

What happened

The festival will run for eight hours at the BITS Club Grounds in Hennur, Bengaluru. Founder Salman Syed announced a six‑band lineup that spans death metal, doom, metalcore, deathcore and thrash.

What the reports add

Syed highlighted that this is the first time the event has stacked a "really big lineup of global bands" and that two side‑by‑side stages will allow continuous performances without gaps.

What was said

"It’s India’s only dedicated heavy metal open‑air music festival and it’s going to be eight hours of non‑stop heavy metal music," Syed told newindianexpress.com. He added, "One band performs and the other is setting up, so they start as soon as the first band finishes." He also described the festival as a "one day of the year where you can be yourself" and emphasized the community aspect of metal.

How it came about

Bangalore Open Air has grown since its inception, becoming a key gathering for metal fans in a country with few genre‑specific festivals. The event continues to attract both local and international acts, reinforcing Bengaluru’s reputation as a hub for alternative music.
