Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr will become the first African artist to headline an NFL halftime show when the Philadelphia Eagles face the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Sunday, BBC Newsbeat reports.

Starr told the outlet the performance is "a message" and stressed the importance of representing culture, adding that artists "speak for the culture and the people that listen to us." She confirmed the set will include tracks from her August‑released album Starrgirl and said rehearsals are under way.

The NFL has previously highlighted Latin American talent, with Bad Bunny performing entirely in Spanish at the Super Bowl earlier this year.
