AOC praised the Strokes for “standing up for economic justice, fighting racism, and understanding that healthcare is a human right,” and reminded the crowd that Election Day is just over a month away. Sanders added a joke about singing and then thanked the band for opposing authoritarianism and urging voter turnout.
Julian Casablancas responded with a quip about “Fab, would you quit making out with Bernie Sanders?” before the group launched into “Lonely in the Future.”
