Customs officers at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad arrested two men after seizing 2.117 kg of suspected ganja on Oct 17, Gulf News reported.

The Air Intelligence Unit intercepted a male passenger arriving on flight VJ‑1805 from Ho Chi Minh City. Examination of his baggage revealed seven vacuum‑sealed packets in a black handbag, weighing a total of about 2,117 grams. A forensic scientist’s preliminary test indicated the presence of active marijuana constituents in all packets.

Investigators later identified a second suspect who had allegedly arranged the passenger’s travel at the direction of overseas contacts, citing recovered WhatsApp chats. Both men were detained under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The seizure follows earlier incidents at the airport, including an 8.913 kg hydroponic ganja haul from Bangkok on Sept 21 and a 5.519 kg seizure concealed in food packaging.
