Abu Dhabi’s quality‑of‑life score has risen from 67 percent to 84 percent, the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) said on Tuesday at a LivEx session.

Eisa Mubarak Almazrouei, DMT’s Director General of Infrastructure Development, explained that the emirate is designing roads, bridges and other projects around how residents experience daily life, using online platforms, data analysis, community meetings and event feedback.

Recent works include a pair of bridges linking Al Reem Island to Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Highway, which cut peak‑hour travel times by about 15 minutes, and an expansion of the cycling network from roughly 900 km to over 2,000 km, both shaped by community input.

Almazrouei added that technology such as artificial intelligence is being used to predict traffic patterns and improve transport systems, but emphasized that human interaction remains central to urban development.
