Zelensky condemns U.S. pause on Russia sanctions amid fresh energy attacks
Zelensky called the pause "unfortunate" and urged support for the Lindsey Graham Act after Russia launched more drone and missile strikes.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky posted on X on Saturday, calling the United States' decision to hold back new sanctions on Russia "unfortunate" as Moscow intensified attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
Zelensky said more than 320 Iranian‑made Shahed drones, along with loitering munitions, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles, were used against the energy sector, cities and communities. He linked the pause to President Donald Trump's surprise order to delay the sanctions named after Sen. Lindsey Graham, noting the act could have applied "truly effective pressure" on Russia.
Trump signed an executive order on Friday pausing the sanctions, citing national interest, and earlier announced a plan to purchase 300,000 metric tons of Russian diesel to lower global oil prices. Zelensky warned the move would fund Russia's war machine.
