Young Hollywood stars reportedly decline People’s Sexiest Man Alive honor

People magazine’s annual Sexiest Man Alive title is reportedly facing refusals from younger Hollywood talent, a former People editor told Daily Times. The source said Zendaya and Tom Holland showed little interest, and that Ryan Gosling also turned it down. Matt Damon is said to have initially declined the honor in 2007 before eventually accepting.
The editor explained that the award now requires the recipient to participate in a photo shoot, interview and promotion, commitments younger stars deem unworthwhile. "It’s not enough to hand someone the crown. They have to show up, cooperate and help sell the story," the source said. This year People awarded the title to 55‑year‑old Noah Wyle, whose drama The Pitt has revived his profile.
