Florence Pugh appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and said Tom Holland’s encouragement was key to her casting in the upcoming Marvel film Spider‑Man: Brand New Day. "This all happened because of Tom," Pugh told the host, recalling a moment on a red carpet where Holland expressed a desire to work with her.
Pugh, who first played Yelena Belova in 2021’s Black Widow, has since returned to the role in 2025’s Thunderbolts and now in the 2026 Spider‑Man installment. The film, which premiered on July 31, has earned $2.49 billion domestically, making it the third‑highest‑grossing movie in U.S. history.
