Xavi Simons posts training footage as he begins ACL comeback

The 23‑year‑old midfielder posted Instagram clips of passing and dribbling drills, marking his first return to grass after the injury.

Tottenham midfielder Xavi Simons posted a new Instagram video showing him training alone on grass, completing passing and dribbling drills while wearing full club kit. The footage confirms he has moved from isolated gym work to outdoor training, a key step after rupturing his right‑knee anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in April 2025 against Wolves.

Simons, a €60 million (£51.9 million) signing from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2025, made 41 appearances for Spurs before the injury ended his debut campaign. He remains ruled out for the rest of the 2025/26 season and is not expected to regain full fitness soon, with a return to full‑team training still some time away.

Tottenham hope a forthcoming fitness trip to Spain will aid his rehabilitation and give the club an edge ahead of upcoming fixtures.
