Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta provided a four‑player injury update before the team's matches against Nottingham Forest and Bayern Munich, according to the Standard.

What happened

Zubimendi missed Tuesday’s Champions League win over Lille after an ankle injury in a training game with teammate Mikel Merino. Scans on Monday suggested the injury is not serious, and Arteta will decide his fitness before the trip to the City Ground.

Defender Hincapie also suffered an ankle injury in the same session and was carried off by goalkeeper Illan Meslier. He is expected to be out for weeks, missing Forest and Bayern, though Arteta said the Ecuadorian is recovering well and may return within a fortnight.

What was said

Arteta told a pre‑Forest press conference, “Piero is evolving really well… I’m sure it’s not going to take long. He will need probably another week or two.” He added that Zubi looks much better and will be reassessed after tomorrow’s training.

Hincapie said, “I’m very hopeful, but we have to see how this goes,” when asked about a return before the international break.

How it came about

The injuries occurred during a small‑sided game on the Emirates Stadium pitch after Arsenal’s league win over Leeds United. Arteta also gave optimistic updates on winger Christos Tzolis’s hamstring recovery and defender William Saliba’s back injury, noting positive MRI scans and individual training sessions.
