Arsenal centre‑back William Saliba, 25, resumed training on Monday after a serious back injury sustained playing for France at the World Cup, according to the club's website.

Saliba took part in individual grass drills with two Arsenal coaches, away from the first‑team group, marking the latest step in his cautious rehabilitation.

Manager Mikel Arteta said the player has been on the grass for "over a week" and that the club is monitoring how many repetitions he can handle. Arteta added that a return around the November international break is possible but not guaranteed, noting the healing process is "very specific".

In Saliba's absence, defender Ezri Konsa has featured alongside Gabriel, while Ben White and Cristhian Mosquera are undergoing scans to assess their own injuries.
