The UAE National Guard said on Saturday, Oct. 10, that a Coast Guard team rescued all 22 crew members of an oil tanker after a fire erupted aboard the vessel in the Arabian Gulf.
According to the Guard, the crew reported the fire, prompting the rescue team to locate the ship, board it and evacuate the crew, who are of Asian nationality. The rescued personnel received first aid before being handed over to the relevant authorities, and the Guard said they are in stable medical condition.
The incident follows a series of maritime emergencies in which UAE authorities have assisted distressed crews, including a June 2025 rescue of 24 crew from the tanker ADALYNN and a May 2025 evacuation of 13 people from a sinking picnic boat.
