UAE cardiologists stress rapid response to heart attack symptoms

Experts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi warn that delayed treatment can cause permanent heart damage.

By Felo News Desk · Published

UAE cardiologists are urging the public to recognise heart‑attack warning signs and call an ambulance without delay, saying every minute without treatment increases the risk of permanent heart‑muscle damage.

Dr Debabrata Dash of Aster Hospital in Dubai explained that a clot can suddenly block blood flow, and “time is muscle”. Dr Georgie Thomas of Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi added that quickly opening a blocked artery with a stent can reduce the chance of heart failure and dangerous rhythms. Dr Mahmoud Traina of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi emphasized that symptoms may include chest pain, shortness of breath, arm or jaw discomfort, sweating, nausea or dizziness, and should prompt immediate emergency care.
