Trump intensifies crackdown on CNN, MS NOW and Politico
The president rejected a judge's order to restore access, while promoting a new streaming service and highlighting a Pew poll on press freedom.

President Donald Trump has continued to bar CNN, MS NOW and Politico from White House coverage despite a federal judge ordering the ban reversed, the Los Angeles Times reported on September 29.
At a tennis tournament hosted by CNN at the Australian ambassador’s residence, White House officials participated, but the administration’s tone elsewhere was markedly hostile. Trump has not reinstated full access for the three outlets, calling their reporters “fake news.”
During the same period, the administration unveiled a new streaming platform called Trump TV and posted renderings of the White House briefing room converted back into a presidential pool and spa.
A Pew Research Center survey released earlier in September found 73% of Americans consider a free press “very” or “extremely” important, while 53% support limits on journalists in cases of alleged misinformation. Trump’s actions come weeks before the midterm elections, raising concerns among former officials and election experts about potential impacts on public confidence.
