Toronto CityNews reported that on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, Canada observes its fifth National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, a federal statutory holiday that does not apply provincially in Ontario.

All banks and financial institutions will be closed, as will federal Government of Canada offices and most ServiceOntario locations. Toronto Public Library branches are also shut for the day. Transit services, including TTC and GO Transit, will run on their regular schedules.

Most grocery stores, malls and shopping centres will stay open, though shoppers are advised to verify individual hours. LCBO locations will open at noon and operate normally thereafter, while The Beer Store’s hours remain unchanged.

Among Toronto’s attractions, Canada’s Wonderland will be closed, but the Art Gallery of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, Gardiner Museum, CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium, Toronto Zoo, Hockey Hall of Fame and the Distillery Historic District will remain open.
