At King’s Lynn Crown Court, prosecutor Christopher Paxton KC told jurors that a 15‑year‑old boy entered Thorpe St Andrew School near Norwich on 11 March carrying a kitchen‑knife, stabbed a 15‑year‑old girl in the back in a corridor, and was arrested shortly after.

Paxton said CCTV captured the attack, describing it as a "knife strike delivered, we say, with an intention to kill". The boy, now 16, was dressed in black, masked and "tooled up" with the knife, according to the prosecutor.

The court heard the defendant left a handwritten note before the attack that read, "I really want to do it, really bad, I hate having to wait…" and listed motives such as "misanthropy, misogyny, suicide, bullying" along with a weapon description and a grim tally of intended victims.

Investigators also found a self‑made video on the teen’s phone featuring American serial killers Edmund Kemper and Ted Bundy, a clip from the TV series The Fall showing fictional killer Paul Spector, an image from Dexter, and a picture of serial killer Steve Wright. A handwritten list titled "victims?" was also recovered.

Paxton emphasized that the girl survived thanks to "sheer good fortune" and was discharged from hospital the following day. The boy has remained silent in police interviews.
