In a September 26 episode of The New York Times’ “The Interview” podcast, Sylvester Stallone said he only discovered “real, true love” after turning 70. The 80‑year‑old actor reflected on his life, parenting, anxiety and the regrets he carries into his eighties.

Stallone, who has been married to his third wife, Jennifer Flavin, since 1997, said he had not found the kind of love that would make him “jump into a volcano” until his seventies. He added that he feels he has built a “castle of regrets” and is trying to make amends, noting that life expectancy is listed at 78 and he feels “two years into borrowed time.”

The actor also spoke about his childhood, saying he was not a good parent and that his wife had been “the greatest woman ever.” He recalled that his first panic attack occurred at 36 and that he has not sought therapy despite decades of anxiety.
