SUNY Purchase’s student government allocated roughly $1,200 in activity‑fee money to the student‑run Collective Organizing for Pleasure and Equity (COPE) Club for the 2025‑26 academic year, documents obtained by The College Fix show. The club spent about $300 on garden supplies such as weeding tools, sunscreen, a watering can, Bluetooth speakers and bug spray, according to purchase requests and transaction records from October 2025 to March 2026.
The COPE Club’s "Reproductive Justice Garden," launched in 2019, includes sections labeled for "abortifacient" plants, as well as areas for "pregnancy/gestation," "mental health" and "menstruation," per Instagram posts from 2024. The garden’s Instagram page also posted instructions for harvesting abortifacient plants and promoted the peacock flower as an abortifacient in September 2024.
