By Felo News Desk · Published
Bonhams announced that a selection of Stanley Kubrick’s personal film memorabilia will begin a public exhibition in New York next week, before traveling to Los Angeles and Paris and finally to London for an auction slated for February 3, 2027.
What happened
The tour starts at Bonhams New York from October 16‑23, moves to Los Angeles November 2‑6, and then to Paris on select days between November 16‑24. After the displays, the full collection will be shown in London from January 18‑February 2 before the auction.
What the reports add
Gizmodo notes that the items include the star‑child prop from the ending of 2001: A Space Odyssey, the axe used by Jack Nicholson in The Shining, costumes of the Grady twins, Kubrick’s director’s chair, annotated scripts and other production materials.
What was said
Bonhams’ website describes the collection as “drawn directly from the Stanley Kubrick Film Archives” and says it reveals the “meticulous craftsmanship and creative vision behind some of the most iconic films in history.”
How it came about
The exhibition follows a growing market for screen‑used props, as seen in recent auctions of memorabilia from musicians and other cultural figures, which Felo previously covered in its reports on the Housing Works auction and high‑value property sales.
