Ringo Starr, David Byrne, Joan Baez and a host of other musicians and artists have donated unique items to Housing Works' second‑annual Turn It Up! auction, which runs through Oct. 1, Variety reported.
The auction includes a T‑shirt signed by Starr, original artworks by Byrne and Baez, a drum head signed by Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen, and a color print of Bob Gruen’s iconic photograph of John Lennon in front of the Statue of Liberty. The auction is organized by Housing Works, a New York‑based nonprofit founded in 1990 to provide housing, health care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS.
