We Recycle Solar to launch U.S.’s first critical‑materials recovery plant for retired solar panels in Texas
The 10‑acre Dallas‑area plant aims to process panels entirely domestically, avoiding offshore smelting.

We Recycle Solar (WRS), an Arizona‑based firm, said it will build the United States’ first end‑to‑end critical‑materials recovery facility for retired solar panels on a 10‑acre site outside Dallas, Texas, with commercial operation planned for the third quarter of 2027.
The plant is designed to recover up to 96% of the silver, copper, silicon, aluminum and glass contained in end‑of‑life panels and to sell the cleaned materials domestically, according to WRS. It will process one panel per minute using a proprietary high‑efficiency extraction process that eliminates the need for downstream smelting overseas.
WRS outlined a four‑year, $100 million investment plan to add four more facilities across the United States, creating a distributed network intended to cut logistics costs and support utility‑scale solar owners. The company highlighted that current U.S. recycling often ships semi‑processed material abroad, whereas its new plant will keep the entire value chain domestic.
