Pop artist Slayyyter disclosed the origin of her stage name during her debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers, saying it references Ron Slater, the laid‑back character played by Rory Cochrane in Richard Linklater’s 1993 cult film Dazed and Confused (Billboard). She added that she “had a crush on him” in high school, which inspired the alias.

The interview also confirmed that her next album, Wor$t Man in America, is slated for release on Dec. 4, 2026. Two singles from the project are already out: “Brand New Chanel$,” which entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 98, and “Crank 2.” The album follows this year’s WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, which peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard 200.

Slayyyter discussed her recent tour, noting she wrapped the North American leg of the Wor$t Girl in the World tour with back‑to‑back sold‑out shows in New York City on Oct. 3 at Terminal 5 and Oct. 4 at the Brooklyn Paramount. She continued the celebration with a Spotify event at Brooklyn’s Market Hotel on Oct. 5, performing fan favorites and unreleased tracks from the upcoming album.
