Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, visited Dinas in Zamboanga del Sur, Mindanao, on Friday to open Dar Al Rahma Orphanage and to break ground on the Al Reeh Al Mursala Village, according to the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB).
The orphanage, designed to house 50 children, includes high‑quality facilities, an electric‑powered well, commercial shops, a restaurant and administrative offices. Al Qasimi also inspected four classrooms, a computer laboratory and a sewing institute for mothers, aiming to develop digital and textile skills.
The Al Reeh Al Mursala Village will comprise 60 two‑bedroom homes, each with a living room, an artesian well for clean water, and a vocational centre intended to provide sustainable income for residents. The project is funded by donors and philanthropists through the "Al Reeh Al Mursala" programme broadcast on Sharjah TV and Sharjah Radio, in cooperation with Sharjah Charity International.
SGMB said the Deputy Ruler’s visit underscores the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian and charitable work, describing it as a “deeply rooted pillar” that conveys “goodness, compassion and humanity” to peoples of all races and ethnicities.
