Indian wicket‑keeper‑batter Sanju Samson booked an entire cinema in Dubai to watch Rajinikanth’s action sequel Jailer 2, according to Gulf News. Samson, a self‑confessed fan of the Tamil star, missed the opening day due to a commitment in Delhi and attended the film a day later with family, friends and several members of the Indian cricket team and support staff who speak Tamil.
"I love watching Rajini sir’s movies, and I always look forward to his next film," Samson told Gulf News, adding that he was "lucky enough to book the entire theatre" and that his wife and friends were also present. He said, "Everyone in the team and the support staff who know Tamil is coming."
The screening comes as Jailer 2 continues its strong box‑office run, approaching a Rs4.78 billion worldwide gross within five days of release and moving toward the Rs5 billion milestone. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the sequel follows the 2023 blockbuster, with Rajinikanth reprising his role as retired lawman Tiger Muthuvel Pandian.
Box‑office data from Sacnilk shows the film collected Rs423.5 million net in India on day five, bringing its domestic net total to Rs2.42 billion, while overseas earnings push the worldwide figure to Rs4.78 billion.
Samson’s enthusiasm reflects the broader cross‑industry appeal of Rajinikanth, whose fan base extends beyond cinema audiences to sports personalities and other public figures.
