Russian ballistic missiles and drones hit Kyiv overnight into Thursday, killing one person and wounding 22, Ukrainian authorities said.
The strikes damaged homes, transport infrastructure and other civilian sites across several districts, including the Dniprovskyi district on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River, where a child was among the six wounded.
The attacks came hours after the Kremlin announced it would restart U.S.-brokered three‑way talks with Ukraine and the United States, a move described by Kremlin foreign‑affairs adviser Yuri Ushakov as an "in principle" agreement.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the prospect of new talks but said, "We’ll see what happens this time," shortly before missile alerts sounded over the capital.
