A rights group says a drone strike attributed to Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) hit a gathering of displaced people in the Abu Shandi area of Blue Nile province on the Sudan‑Ethiopia border, killing 41, including eight children, on Saturday, according to the Associated Press.

The Emergency Lawyers group, which monitors the conflict, identified the RSF as responsible. A UN humanitarian coordinator, Denise Brown, condemned the attack, calling it a flagrant disregard for international humanitarian law and urging accountability.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said dozens were also wounded. The RSF did not respond to requests for comment.

Sudan’s war, which began in April 2023, has killed at least 150,000 people and displaced more than 12.4 million, according to ACLED and UN figures, creating what aid agencies describe as the world’s largest humanitarian crisis.
