Punjab chief minister reports 16% rise in public hospital patients
The chief minister highlighted increases across outpatient, inpatient and emergency services and praised a naval submarine exercise.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said on Sunday that patient attendance at the province's major public hospitals rose 16 per cent, with total treatments exceeding 45.7 million.
Outpatient department visits increased by 21 per cent, inpatient admissions by 11 per cent and emergency cases by nine per cent. Internal‑medicine patients grew 26 per cent, cardiology 12 per cent and surgery 10 per cent. Children and skin patients each rose nine per cent, while ENT cases rose seven per cent.
The report also noted that more than 2.1 million parcels of cancer and cardiac medicines were delivered to patients.
In the same meeting, the chief minister praised the Pakistan Navy for a successful live‑weapon firing from the submarine PNS/M Hangor, describing it as a demonstration of professional excellence and operational capability.
She also used World Tourism Day to stress tourism's role in boosting the economy and projecting a positive image of Pakistan, citing the province's natural, historical and cultural attractions.
