Anti‑terrorism court rejects bail for three PTI figures in Jinnah House case

The court also granted a three‑day physical remand for PTI leader Taqi Raza Khan over a separate vehicle‑burning case.

An anti‑terrorism court (ATC) in Pakistan on Friday denied interim bail applications filed by PTI leader Awais Younis and workers Syeda Fatima and Hasnain Ali in the May 9 Jinnah House attack case, after they failed to appear at the hearing.

Judge Manzar Ali Gill noted the trio’s non‑appearance at both the current and previous hearings and dismissed their requests. The court, however, approved a one‑day exemption from personal appearance for Punjab Assembly member Ali Imtiaz Warraich and extended his interim bail, along with that of other accused, until 26 October.

In a separate order, the same judge granted a three‑day physical remand for PTI leader Taqi Raza Khan in a case concerning the burning of police vehicles at Afshan Chowk during the May 9 unrest. Defence counsel Bilal Mustafa and Yousaf Wain opposed the arrest, noting Khan was already on interim bail for the Jinnah House case.
