Masterpress launches PFAS‑free high‑barrier paper pouches in Poland
The new line uses a Karlville Swiss machine to make bio‑based pouches for dry foods, pet products and supplements.
By Felo News Desk · Published
Masterpress began operating a PFAS‑free high‑barrier paper pouch line at its Białystok facility in Poland in September 2026, Trendhunter reported.
The Karlville Swiss machine produces pouches that contain more than 90% paper and 95% bio‑based materials, delivering strong protection against oxygen and moisture. The company says the structures are suitable for dry foods, pet products and dietary supplements.
Finished printed pouches still need further testing for recyclability, but the paper substrate has passed recyclability assessments. By integrating printing and pouch formation, Masterpress eliminates extra lamination or curing steps, shortening production cycles and allowing brands to run small‑batch trials before larger orders.
European packaging regulations increasingly demand recyclable solutions, and Masterpress hopes the new capability will give manufacturers flexibility while meeting those standards.
