Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri – the three leads of Disney+’s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” – are set to attend Italy’s Lucca Comics and Games Festival in late October, Variety said. The trio will present previously unseen footage from the series ahead of the scheduled Nov. 20 launch of Season 3.
What happened
Lucca Comics and Games, held within the 16th‑century walls of Lucca, Tuscany, draws more than 200,000 fans each year and is billed as Europe’s biggest pop‑culture festival. This year’s edition runs Oct. 28‑Nov. 1, and the “Percy Jackson” cast will join a slate of Hollywood and Asian releases that use the event as a launch platform.
What the reports add
Variety quoted Giovanni Cova, head of Milan‑based entertainment marketing firm QMI, which programs Lucca’s film and TV strand. Cova said Disney’s support makes Lucca a “key stop on a major promotional tour” for the series and that the festival has become “an essential international stage to unveil major series released in the autumn season.” He added that Lucca has previously showcased titles such as “Stranger Things,” “Squid Game,” “Wednesday” and “The Lord of the Rings.”
What was said
“We are absolutely delighted to have Disney’s support and to serve as a key stop on a major promotional tour, in this case for ‘Percy Jackson,’” Cova told Variety. He also described the festival’s photo‑opportunities and fan interactions as “priceless,” noting the contrast with typical red‑carpet events.
How it came about
Lucca’s growing relevance for Hollywood and Asian studios has been highlighted in recent Felo News coverage of the 60th‑edition lineup, which listed the Percy Jackson preview among other premieres. The festival’s reputation for high‑profile guest attendance and extensive media exposure has encouraged studios to favor it over traditional red‑carpet venues for autumn releases.
