Pakistan carried out airstrikes overnight in Afghanistan’s Helmand and Kunar provinces, Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said nine women and children were killed and 11 civilians wounded. The Taliban government condemned the attacks as an act of aggression.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Information asserted the strikes targeted militant hideouts, stating "initial reports suggest" that 22 militants were killed and that the operations were "well planned and calibrated" with no collateral damage.

The United Nations Mission in Afghanistan has previously documented over 1,100 civilian deaths from cross‑border violence this year, underscoring the ongoing dispute over militant activity along the two countries’ border.
