NBC orders extra scripts for Line of Fire
The network’s move follows solid viewership for the series’ first three episodes.

NBC has asked for five additional scripts for its first‑year drama Line of Fire, creator Joshua Safran said. The series, which premiered on Sept. 21, has drawn 12 million cross‑platform viewers across its first three episodes and a same‑day audience of 2.98 million, 34 percent higher than the previous year’s slot holder. While the script order does not guarantee more produced episodes, it would allow the season to grow from an initial 13‑episode order to up to 18 if NBC decides to green‑light them. The show stars Peter Krause, Hope Davis and others, and is produced by Universal Television with Safran, Jenna Bush Hager and Ben Spector serving as executive producers.
