Rob Lowe told Variety during a “Watch What Happens Live” appearance that the sequel to the 1985 film St. Elmo’s Fire is still in the works. He added that the original cast, including Demi Moore, are all interested in returning and that a draft of the script should arrive in the first week of October. Lowe said he had met with the studio about four months ago and that the project is in very early stages. Moore has also said that conversations are happening and that Sony is “really behind” the project, though a suitable writer partner is still being sought.
