Meta announced Muse Gadgets, an open‑source project that lets developers create their own hardware to connect with the company’s Muse personal AI assistant. The initiative, revealed on Friday, includes open‑source firmware, a Linux SDK and several starter ideas such as an e‑ink display or an HDMI‑stick device.
According to the announcement, hobbyists can use low‑cost platforms like Raspberry Pi or ESP32 boards and attach Muse to displays, buttons, sensors or actuators. Meta also set up a Discord channel for community support.
Nat Friedman, head of product at Meta’s Superintelligence Labs, posted on X that the company has already built a Muse Home Link device. The USB‑C‑powered gadget links Muse to a home network, enabling control of smart speakers and TVs. Meta produced 5,000 Home Links and is giving them away for free to Muse subscribers while supplies last; the devices are expected to ship within a few weeks.
The Muse Gadgets effort aligns with Meta’s broader push to embed Muse in small‑business tools and enterprise offerings, following the recent launch of Muse for Small Business and the new Meta Enterprise Platform.
