Mamata Banerjee backs CJP call to remove Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar

Kolkata, Oct. 2 (PTI) – Former West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said she fully supports the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and its agitation demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Banerjee made the statement to reporters at Kolkata airport after returning from Delhi, where she attended an INDIA bloc meeting. "We are fully supporting the Cockroach (Janata) Party and all the young generation and students," she told the press, according to News18. The CJP has been staging protests in Delhi, Mumbai and other cities, seeking Kumar's resignation over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Banerjee had previously backed a CJP protest at Jantar Mantar in August over alleged NEET exam irregularities.
