The court’s Sept. 9 decision held that amendments to the Sex Offender Registration Act made in 2021 cannot be applied retroactively to offenses committed before July 1, 2011. As a result, Nassar’s name was removed along with roughly 20,000 other convicted offenders, according to the Eaton County Prosecutor’s Office.
