Everton owners say club is up for sale as they look for new investors

The Friedkin Group announced it may sell its 94.1% stake in Everton, citing the need for suitable stewards to build on recent momentum.

The Friedkin Group, which bought Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1% stake in Everton in December 2024, said on Monday it is exploring new investment options for the club, including a potential sale of its controlling interest.

In an official statement, the owners said they will only consider offers from buyers who can act as "suitable stewards" to build on the club’s recent progress, which includes moving from Goodison Park to the new Hill Dickinson Stadium for the 2025‑26 season.

The announcement comes as Everton enjoy an unbeaten start to the Premier League, sitting seventh after five matches under manager David Moyes, and face Hull City later this week before upcoming fixtures against Chelsea, Arsenal and a Carabao Cup tie with Newcastle.
