A Russian drone strike on the National Academy of Sciences in Kyiv on 28 September killed seven people and wounded more than 50, Ukrainian officials said. The attack was part of a broader daytime bombardment that also hit residential buildings, data centres and other civilian sites across the capital. The academy’s vice‑president, Volodymyr Gorbulin, was slightly wounded and reported a colleague killed. The strike has been described by the academy as “Russian terror” and “barbarity”.
Earlier on the same day, a separate report from the Independent noted that the strike was part of a wave of Russian attacks that also targeted other civilian infrastructure. The incident follows a series of drone and missile attacks that have killed civilians across Ukraine in recent days.
For context, see Felo’s earlier coverage of the same strike: Russian drone hits Kyiv’s National Academy of Sciences, killing at least one and Russian drones strike Kyiv’s National Academy of Sciences, killing seven.
