Sir Kevin Sinfield arrived at St Helens' Brewdog Stadium on 2 October, marking the penultimate stop of his seven‑day "7 in 7" ultra‑running challenge for motor neurone disease (MND) charities.

What happened

After departing Salford’s AIG Stadium at 8:40 am, Sinfield ran the St Helens leg, where supporters greeted him warmly. By the time he entered the stadium, the challenge had raised more than £1,165,000 for a consortium of MND charities.

What the reports add

The Independent noted that the event follows Sinfield’s day‑five milestone, when he surpassed the £1 million mark (see Felo’s earlier coverage). The article also records that the final leg will take place at Old Trafford before the Super League Grand Final.

What was said

"It’s been brilliant coming here," Sinfield told the crowd, adding he felt the St Helens colours "look very good on me". He also highlighted the unifying power of the challenge, saying, "The great thing about visiting rugby league clubs is you’re all very tribal… we’re going need you all to come together".

How it came about

Inspired by former teammate Rob Burrow, who died in 2024 after living with MND, Sinfield began the 7 in 7 tour in 2020. The challenge has raised over £11 million for charities including the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Irish MND Association and the Doddie Foundation.
