On the October 1 episode of the podcast Las Culturistas, Kelly Clarkson said artificial intelligence offers exciting possibilities for music but should not compete directly with human artists. "I think it’s welcome to the table — I think it’s really cool what we’re going to create with AI musically," she told hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang, according to Billboard.
Clarkson added that AI‑generated tracks should have their own chart, noting, "When you see AI artists competing on a chart with humans, I have an issue." She emphasized the need for listeners to differentiate AI creations from human work, saying, "We can’t lose human. There can be an appetite for both is what I’m saying."
The singer also praised the scientific advances behind AI, calling them "amazing" and "obsessed" with the technology artistically. Billboard noted that the industry is moving toward greater transparency, with the publication and data firm Luminate planning to label AI‑created songs on their charts.
