On Oct. 2, two‑time Grammy‑nominated KATSEYE unveiled a new remix of their hit “Hootie Frutti,” produced by Brazilian singer‑producer DJ Pedro Sampaio. The version amplifies the track’s baile funk roots and includes guest verses from Brazilian funk singer‑songwriter Mc Gw and underground queer femme DJ Clementaum, who take the lead in the outro.
What happened
The original “Hootie Frutti,” released Aug. 14 on the group’s third EP WILD, already featured Portuguese lyrics by member Daniela. The remix, released Friday, adds heavier percussion and a more pronounced Brazilian funk groove.
What the reports add
Billboard notes that the EP WILD debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 170,000 units, marking the biggest first‑week for a female group in 18 years. The remix follows KATSEYE’s ongoing Wildworld Tour, which will begin its U.S. leg in Miami on Oct. 13 and later headline the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Oct. 18.
What was said
Billboard quotes Daniela’s intro line, “Eu sei que tu gosta da fruta, mas essa é diferente,” translating to “I know you like the fruit, but this one is different.”
