Dinesh Karthik says India's explosive top order will not feature in West Indies T20 series
Karthik warns the trio that helped win the Asian Games will be dropped to accommodate more fast bowlers for the Lucknow series.

Former India cricketer Dinesh Karthik told Cricbuzz that the explosive top‑order combination of Abhishek Sharma, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Sanju Samson, which featured in the Asian Games 2026, will not be used in the five‑match T20I series against West Indies starting on October 6 in Lucknow.
What happened
Karthik said the team will need two or three pacers for the spin‑friendly conditions in Japan, where the series will be played, and therefore the trio must give way to additional fast bowlers. He noted that Jasprit Bumrah is rested for the series, giving him a breather before New Zealand, and that the focus is currently on Test cricket.
What was said
"Not really, because you will need more pacers. There in Japan, we just played one pacer. In India, you will need two pacers, if not three. So, you will definitely not see that (the same batting order)," Karthik said, as reported by Sportskeeda.
