Jordanian teenage footballer Mu'tasim Iyad Hamza Al Taweel, 16, died after being hit by a vehicle in Amman's Bayader Wadi Al Seer area, Gulf News reported on 6 October 2026.

Al Taweel had previously played in the youth ranks of Al Ahli Club before moving to Al Hussein Irbid, where he was regarded as a promising prospect. Al Ahli posted a statement on its official Facebook page mourning the loss, describing him as a member of its under‑18 team and extending condolences to his family and the wider sporting community.

The accident sparked an outpouring of sympathy from former teammates, clubs and supporters across Jordan, who expressed grief at the sudden death of a player who had represented two of the country's established clubs.
