Moncler has announced that Blackpink member Jennie will front its new Re/Icons mountain‑explorer campaign, unveiled ahead of the brand’s archival revival of several historic styles.
What happened
The campaign showcases updated versions of Moncler’s Karakorum, Verone, Himalaya and Tibb garments, originally created from the 1950s through the 1980s for alpine explorers. Jennie appears in a black Karakorum jacket – a piece first made for Italian climbers who summited K2 in 1952 – and a caramel‑coloured Tibb vest, originally a functional workhorse from the 1980s. Both items have been reimagined with glossy finishes and reversible features.
What the report adds
According to ELLE, the campaign also features fashion icons Grace Jones and Cher, underscoring Jennie’s global reach. The collection includes silk‑twill foulards, titanium and leather sunglasses inspired by vintage goggles, windbreakers, T‑shirts, pants and skirts. The brand’s creative direction draws on vintage photographs of alpine pioneer Lionel Terray, framing the line with the tagline “Pioneers in Moncler with Extraordinary Dreams.”
What was said
Jennie told ELLE that being a pioneer means trusting one’s instincts and taking paths that may not yet exist, adding, “It’s not always about being the first, but having the courage to do things in your own way and hopefully inspiring others.” She also said she prefers a coat to become the whole look, keeping the rest of the outfit simple.
How it came about
The collaboration follows Jennie’s solo EP “Fallen Angel,” released a few months earlier, and her recent live performance with The Weeknd in Seoul on Oct. 8, 2026 (see Felo’s coverage). Her growing presence in high‑fashion campaigns, front‑row appearances and varied styling choices have made her a frequent subject of media attention, leading Moncler to select her as a face of the Re/Icons line.
