India’s long‑time Sudoku representative Jaipal Reddy and his son Kartik Reddy will compete at the 19th World Sudoku Championship and the 33rd World Puzzle Championship in Kolkata, which run from October 11 to 18, according to Deccan Chronicle.

Jaipal, who has played for India since 2008, said the team’s goal is a top‑five finish and his personal aim is to end inside the top 40. He recalled India’s best results: a fifth‑place team finish and a 37th‑place individual ranking.

Kartik, who first appeared for India in the under‑15 category in 2015, is now an MBA student balancing study and practice. He noted he began regularly beating his father from 2023, though they still contest tightly at home.
