Workerbee (part of Banijay UK) and Paper Route Studios have secured exclusive access to Jackie, Jermaine, Tito and Marlon Jackson for a 90‑minute documentary that will launch at MIPCOM, the global TV market in Cannes.

What happened

The documentary, still untitled, chronicles the four brothers’ rise from Gary, Indiana, to global superstardom as part of the original Jackson 5. Production spanned three years and combines observational filming, rare archive footage and new interviews. It also includes the last interview Tito Jackson gave before his death in 2024.

What the reports add

Variety notes that the film will be available both as a feature‑length piece and as a three‑part series for worldwide release. Mediawan will handle international distribution and push sales at MIPCOM. The description emphasizes the brothers’ “extraordinary rise, triumph, fractures and reunion,” and highlights the influence of their father Joe Jackson’s demanding rehearsals and their mother Katherine’s role in the family.

What was said

Rick Murray, CEO of Workerbee Group, told Variety, “When Marc Pos came to us about working with The Jacksons it was an instant ‘yes’. The Jackson 5 are one of the most influential musical acts of all time.” Director Benjamin Hirsch added, “Following our work with Janet Jackson, having the opportunity to work with the Jackson brothers is a huge privilege… this film has been a real treat to put together.” Corey Russell, co‑founder of Paper Route Studios, said, “It is a true honour to be a part of the team to bring this story to life after all of these years.”

How it came about

The project, produced by Hirsch with Simon Stanley (editor), Dorothea Sterian (producer) and a team of archive specialists, reflects a growing trend of legacy music acts receiving in‑depth documentary treatment, similar to recent releases covered by Felo News such as the Amy Goodman documentary and DeSean Jackson’s “Go Deep.”
