Police say the duo sold complimentary passes for up to Rs 6,000 ahead of the fourth India‑West Indies T20I in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad police detained four suspects on Tuesday, among them a Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) member, Satish Chandra Srivastava, and his son Akarshit Srivastava, for allegedly selling free match tickets at inflated prices before the India‑West Indies T20I on Wednesday.

According to a Times of India report cited by Gulf News, the racket was uncovered after police received a tip on Oct 12 about illegal sales near SD Mall in Begum Bazaar. Initial arrests of Avinash Darak and Mohit Somani yielded 11 complimentary passes, and the duo allegedly named the Srivastavas as their source.

Investigators say the tickets, marked “NOT FOR SALE,” were advertised on WhatsApp and Instagram for Rs 3,500‑6,000 each, depending on pavilion. Police seized Rs 5,000 in cash, mobile phones, a two‑wheeler and eight Navratri‑event passes. All four were remanded to judicial custody.
