Hulu announced that its upcoming reality competition The Mob will debut on Oct. 26, featuring actress Parker Posey as host and a cast of 12 celebrities competing for up to $250,000.
What happened
The series places the contestants in an Italian villa where they must navigate challenges inspired by classic mob films. The prize pool is $250,000, and the format emphasizes loyalty and power dynamics, echoing the tagline: “In a game where power demands absolute loyalty, can the don stay in control, or will the family rise up and overthrow them?”
What the reports add
According to Bustle, the show is produced by the team behind The Traitors, promising a similar atmosphere of backstabbing. Rob Mills, head of unscripted and alternative entertainment for Walt Disney Television, told Deadline the series feels “more The Godfather” compared with The Traitors’ “Knives Out” vibe.
What was said
Posey said in a teaser, “I may look cute, but I kinda run the place.” Mills added that the producers hope the show will stand out as “its own thing and really special.”
How it came about
The Mob follows the success of The Traitors and taps into the popularity of celebrity competition shows, expanding Hulu’s unscripted slate with a mob‑themed twist.
